I’ve lived in California for over 20 years, and during that time, I’ve seen the state go through significant changes. Having grown up in Iran and lived in Mexico and China, I’ve always been fascinated by the complexities of the places I call home. California is no different.
When friends, family, and colleagues began to leave, I wanted to understand why. That curiosity led me to launch California Insider in 2019—a platform where I explore key issues affecting the state, from homelessness and crime to housing and education.
Through more than 300 interviews with experts, I’ve come to realize that many of California’s challenges stem from a lack of awareness and informed discussion. California Insider aims to provide people with the knowledge to better understand these issues.
Through these conversations, I hope to help everyone gain a clearer perspective on the state’s challenges and make decisions with greater understanding.
